Joey Scouts is the first jump into the Scout movement. Boys and Girls aged 6yrs - 7yrs old can join Joeys, and when they do there's lots of things to keep them occupied. Joey Scouts are given a sense of belonging and learn ways of creative expression. Most of all Joeys are taught to jump right in and help. Joey Scouts learn a simple Law and Promise and are identified by the Group Scarf and Joey Scout woggle which are worn with the Joey T-Shirt and Joey legionnaire hat.
The Joey Scout theme is : Help other People (H.O.P)Meeting Nights are: Tuesday Afternoon 5:00p.m.-6:00p.m.
The 1st Korrahill Joey Mob started at the beginning of 2nd term 1998. The Joey Mob is currently running with 6 Joeys, any more offers to join are welcome.
Joeys can leap headlong into fun with a programme of games, crafts and activities that lets them learn, mix with other children and have a good time. The activities of the Joey Scout Mob provide children with experiences which will help them:- work and play in groups, mix with adults outside their home and school environment, develop their physical, mental, social and spiritual abilities.
There are games that teach Joeys about themselves, co-ordination and co-operation and there are new things to try like painting, clay work and collage making. The programme is simple, fexible, fun and exciting and will help Joey Scouts learn about themselves, nature, helping others, finding fun, co-operation and team effort without the stress of competition.
