WELCOME
The club
is proud of its friendly and informal atmosphere. If you have any
questions concerning the hobby or suggestions for the club feel free
to ask the members. We are here to support and encourage newcomers
to the exciting world of r/c car racing.
We like
to have racing under way by 9.30am. Please try to arrive early to
setup your equipment, register and perhaps get some practice.
When registration
is called please supply your name, radio frequency and class of car
i.e. 540 electric, stock electric, stock nitro or pro nitro. Pay race
fee if required $5 senior $4 Junior. Take note of your transponder
number and colour and the race number you have been entered into.
A race
meeting will be called prior to the start of racing. Details of the
race format will be explained and any frequency conflicts etc.resolved.
We operate a computer based race organizer, which will announce the
upcoming race number, grid position and time countdown. Please check
the printouts and prepare your car as this is an automatic process
and cannot be delayed without creating problems for the race steward.
Help in
setting up and packing away the track at the end of the meeting is
greatly appreciated.
Closed
in shoes MUST be worn at all times.
RACE ETIQETTE
1. Your
transmitter MUST be switched OFF if you are not racing. To most of
us our cars are our pride and joy, not to mention expensive, and can
be severely damaged by the careless switching-on of a transmitter.
Please adhere to this rule and everyone will be happy.
2. Do not run in reverse direction on the track during warm-up or
practice.
3. Drivers must marshal for the race they have been allocated. Marshal
as you yourself would like to be treated, quickly and with respect
for the car, but do not endanger yourself or oncoming traffic.
4. In the event of an accident or loss of control do not return into
oncoming traffic unless it is safe to do so, you may cause another
driver to take evasive action possibly resulting in an accident.
5. Crossing of the track layout markers to make up position or time
is frowned upon and may result in a black flag in club point rounds.
6. This is a family orientated and friendly activity and although
in the heat of battle we all get excited we must please refrain from
swearing or abusing the marshals or your fellow drivers. If you have
a complaint see the race steward.
7. Overtake fellow drivers fairly; hacking or deliberately pushing
a car off the track will only give you the reputation of a poor driver.
8. At the end of the race switch off your car, your transmitter and
return the transponder as quickly as possible.
...Abiding
by these rules will ensure everyone enjoys their race.
