Welcome to Shoalhaven Hunting Club

Training Index

The Shoalhaven Hunting Club has a very high code  of ethics and aims to ensure safety for not only hunters but others who may share the wild lands. The club will not refer members who have not reached proficiency (as measured by successful completion of the basic safety training course) to private lands that become available to the club for hunting. The club  has  adopted the Game Councils new Hunter Education Handbook as its training manual; this is a more up to date text & deals with current legislation in a more thorough manner than our original training manual which was written in 1998. The documents listed here now are additional reading only. The training manual is available from the NSW Game Council; <www.gamecouncil.nsw.gov.au>, ph:0263605100.

Legislation was enacted to establish the NSW Game Council which provides for amongst other things,  involvement of responsible hunters in the control of feral and pest animals on public lands.
