I am sending you a report on the Hearing given to me by the Commission, which you opened in September, 1998, but was short lived in September, 1999, through your Decree. This should have been suspended through my Appeal to Rome in October, 1999, but this was not acted upon, as clearly shown through the statement of Father Kevin Matthews, who headed the Commission. Therefore, the recent Hearing of the Commission on the 21st October, 2000, was illegal, according to the Law of the Church.

It is clear to me that you and the Commission - with due respect - have no idea of how to proceed according to Canon law, and you have already made your decision against me long before the Commission called me to give evidence. What has happened to Truth, Justice and a fair hearing?

As you will read in the report given by my only witness, Father Malcolm Broussard, the questions were stacked against me; they were accusations on the whole, not questions to establish the truth. The Hearing was a false representation of the Church and its desire to hear my words, as the questions were not given to me beforehand so that I could study them and present my case. Although the questions were studied by the Notaries and my Advocate, long before I arrived.

Father Kevin Matthews questioned me in such a manner as if I were already guilty of error, or of even causing a Church schism; even the Press reports were used as factual evidence to point out that the Order of Saint Charbel was a fabrication of my mind, using Catholic Practices to entice weak old Catholics away from the One True Church; to sell their properties so that I could become rich and famous. How scandalous is this coming from a Commission that Your Lordship has set up to study my claims.

The Court Hearing was a mockery of Truth and Justice and bias against me - 'A Kangaroo Court'!

When I questioned the legality of the Hearing, due to my Appeal to Rome last October, the Head of the Commission, Father Kevin Matthews, eluded to the fact that they assumed that Rome had advised them to continue with the Hearing. How can anyone assume anything concerning such an important matter? When I asked Father Matthews if he had received this instruction in writing - the answer was: "No"! - that he needed to check with yourself if such letters had been received. Where is the fairness in this?

Some months ago, before the Hearing took place I had to ask the Commission for an Advocate Protector - the Commission only granted me an Advocate when I asked for one. Six names were submitted to me to choose from, which were not known to me, but I was not permitted an Advocate of my own choosing to defend me.

Prior to all Hearings and written dialogue between the Commission and myself, I had never met with my Advocate; I did not know who he was nor had any contact been made by him. Also, I had never met the Head of the Commission, nor was I informed who was on the Commission.

On the day of the Hearing, the Advocate, Father John Woods, of A.C.T. - though a very lovely Priest - knew very little about me - he even asked me at the Hearing where I lived. I was never counselled by him, nor did he ever prepare me as to the proceedings of this Court Hearing. When I questioned him as to whether he knew what an Advocate was, he simply said I was misunderstanding the role of an Advocate.

The only reason I went to the Hearing was out of good will, and my chance to at least place my case before the Commission. The Commission was acting illegally!

I asked the commission at the conclusion of the Hearing - which only lasted 50 minutes - what happens now? Father Kevin advised that this would go to Canon Lawyers and Theologians, and from their reports it will go to you for a final decision.

I was advised that no witness needed to be called in - thank God I had a witness, even though I had to request one! What type of Commission is this - no witnesses to my claims? What of the thousands of Testimonials; the 50,000 letters, the 45,000 Houses of Prayers, the 20 or so letters from Bishops showing support, in various ways? The evidence is very clear - but all is being swept under the carpet, just like I have been!

How can a Commission place me on oath before God and His Church, to give evidence on a life-time of work in 50 minutes - and from this a decision is made? I say God is my Judge, and He is also your Judge, and the Commission's.

Like Saint Joan of Arc: if the Church could burn me at the stake, it would do so, that the Truth could be removed. But God's Wheel turns - be assured!
