12th June, 2003

The Editor,
Illawarra Mercury,
P.O. Box 1215,
WOLLONGONG 2500
NEW SOUTH WALES

Dear Sir / Madam,

I noted the article in yesterday’s edition – 11th June, 2003 and also last Friday’s edition of 6th June.

With due respect to the Most Reverend Bishop Ingham – who has studied Canon Law – it would seem he needs to return to his studies, because he obviously does not understand the Law.

To say by the authority of the Pope is, putting it bluntly, laughable! Using the leverage of a statement coming from Rome, and saying it has the Pope’s support merely by association, is misleading the public. Furthermore, Bishop Ingham did not produce the evidence as such – neither to Bishop Broussard or to the public arena in general.

The Illawarra Mercury continues to mislead the public with regards to ourselves, and the work we represent. If you would apply the "Code of Ethics" to journalism, people would know the truth, and come to understand the real issues at stake.

Cardinal Cassidy and Cardinal Hoyes, from the Vatican, have clearly stated that the Line of Bishops in which Father Broussard was consecrated a Bishop, is legitimate.

Bishop Ingham is way off the track. He should get his facts right before he issues a statement. Bishop Broussard did not attempt to become a Bishop, but in fact is a Bishop, duly consecrated under the mandate of Pope Pius IX.

To say Bishop Broussard has no faculties, is a joke. Any Bishop or Priest, even if they were removed from office, still have their faculties – as a Doctor would remain a Doctor, even if he were struck off the Register.

As for the "Decree" of excommunication: what a sham of injustice!

  •  First the excommunication has no hold or authority, as it was suspended by the fact of my previous three "Appeals" to the Church, and to the Pope. Canon Law states that if an "Appeal" is placed, all judgement is suspended.

  •  Secondly, an excommunication can only be issued to a person, not a group of people.

  •  Thirdly, this excommunication has been appealed against, thus suspending all judgements.

As usual, the Church, as well as its "puppet", the Media, continue to play the fiddle to persuade the public that our members are in danger, requiring "help line" as its aid. Yet it is clearly seen that "help line" has not been contacted.

  •  It is also to be noted that an official statement from a Bishop, or anyone in authority, is not relayed by fax!

  •  Secondly, Bishop Ingham advised he had heard about Bishop Broussard’s Consecration.

  •  Thirdly, if he had heard third hand, would it not be right for him to contact Bishop Broussard first, before issuing a statement?

Be assured that the time will come when all truth will be made known.

Yours truly,
