* * * PRESS RELEASE * * *
You have the power to change the course of history! On the 27th May 2005, an Australian, Schapelle Corby, was convicted to a twenty (20) year jail sentence for drug trafficking. SHE IS INNOCENT!! The only evidence given was that they found drugs in her boogie bag -- an unlocked bag. The evidence for the Defence was dismissed. The Judge, Linton Sirait, boasted that he has convicted five-hundred (500) drug carriers, and not one was innocent. He was prejudiced against Corby as she was an Australian, and he was determined to convict her no matter what the evidence. I, as well as many other Australians, was appalled y the insult to the Justice System that was shown there. A cry around the world should be raised to boycott Bali and Indonesia until Corby has been released, and the verdict reversed. Why is it that the same Court condemned Abu Bakar Bashir, the Bali bomber mastermind, for a sentence of only two-and-a-half (2.5) years when he killed some two-hundred (200) people? YET CORBY -- WITHOUT EVIDENCE -- GETS TWENTY (20) YEARS? WHERE IS THE JUSTICE? The Indonesian Government should investigate the Judges! Certain Press Editors and "expert" Lawyers voiced their opinions on the sentence and trial, including some Politicians who claimed we should all remain silent and allow the Justice System proceed in the Appeal. Some even claimed that going for an Appeal is risking a greater sentence -- of life. What a joke, to say the least! THE WOMAN IS INNOCENT!! And a twenty (20) year jail sentence for a young woman of twenty-seven (27) is a "Life Sentence" in a jail like that of Bali. That would remind someone that you were living in a world gone mad. I ask all of you in high authority: what would you do if your children were placed under such a sentence? Simply accept it as such? One last matter: the Australian Government is asking the people to remain calm, and not to vent their outrage to the Indonesian Officials or Government Bodies. What, have we become "wusses"? Does the Australian Constitution not give Australians the right to voice their opinion -- their anger? The Australian Government asks for silence so as not to offend our neighbour -- that it will harm the Corby Case. What total rubbish!! Has not the Case already been harmed by the Indonesian Justice System? Was it not the voice of the Australian people that elected the Howard Government in the first place? Ninety-two percent (92%) of the people are outraged with the decision regarding the Schapelle Corby Case, and more so because the Government has not stepped in, diplomatically. And even now that the Indonesian Embassy has been threatened -- this in itself is very wrong and sad -- but, who is to say that the Indonesian extremist are not the perpetrators inciting tension and division between the two Nations, making it look like it is the Australians who are inciting civil unrest? What will happen if the nine Australians -- who are now in jail for drug trafficking -- get the death sentence? What then? Let my words reach your conscience! It is time for humanity to stand up for "Truth" and "True Justice"! I remain God's Prophet. God Bless, [signature] The "Little Pebble" | |||||||
