DATE: APRIL 26, 2000 - PRESS RELEASE
TO: GENERAL PUBLIC, VARIOUS NEWS MEDIA (by Fax)
FROM: THE LITTLE PEBBLE
SUBJECT: THE MASSACRE IN UGANDA
REF: N/A

Subject: Massacre in Uganda

The news of the massacre in Uganda, which reached the public some weeks ago, has resulted in the Media trying to associate that tragedy with the Order of Saint Charbel here in Australia. The Media and so-called 'Cult Watchers' who claim to have the authority and knowledge in such matters, have tried repeatedly to link this group in Uganda, namely the Movement of the Restoration of the Ten Commandments with the Order of Saint Charbel, in Australia, of which I am the Moderator. They insinuate that the Ugandan group, the WACO group, Hale-Bopp and Jonestown tragedies are parallel with the Order of Saint Charbel.

The Order of Saint Charbel is a Catholic Religious Order of Priests, Nuns and Families living a consecrated life, that is, they live under a Rule and Constitution according to the beliefs and tenets of the Catholic Church. Our Order is currently being investigated by the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Wollongong, New South Wales. This Investigation, which was requested by me, is being undertaken by the Bishop of Wollongong, the Most Reverend Bishop Philip Wilson, and also by the Holy See, in Rome.

I have stated, many times, that the Catholic Church does not investigate sects or cults. I categorically deny any link with these other groups named. If some see similarities with these groups and our Order, I can only repeat, they have never had, or will have, any connection with the Order of Saint Charbel. Although members of these groups may profess a Religious background in as much as they believe in Jesus Christ, they most certainly are not of the Catholic Faith, generally speaking.

In recent times, the Press has been attempting to lay the blame for these deaths in the Ugandan massacre, on me. What right has the Press to arbitrate the law, insinuate involvement in death and murder by assumed association. Is not the Media obliged to abide by a 'Code of Ethics'? The public have a right to the truth.

The Media use self-proclaimed 'Cult Watchers', like Mr. Wally Anglesea, as their 'experts' and 'oracles' of truth. Where and what are his credentials? Has he a degree in Mystical Theology? I have never met this man. He has never been involved in any Branch of our Order, yet he is being claimed, nationally and internationally, as an authority on me and the Order of Saint Charbel!

Does that mean now that if I set myself up on the Internet as a Doctor, advising patients - am I then an authority on medicine? How far does false reporting go? I would have no hesitation in placing a law suit on those in the Media who have slandered me, but I do not have the means or the funds. It is the same old story, the little man cannot defend himself in the world arena against the 'World Power Groups' who hold every soul at bay. However, the wheel turns!

The newspapers claim that documents referring to me were found in the home of the Cult Leader Joseph Kibwetere. What does this infer? - that I am involved? Does that then mean each time a crime is committed anywhere in the world and at the scene of the crime, messages of the 'Little Pebble' are located, that I am involved? This is a blatant case of guilt by association, according to the reporting. My messages are readily available and have been issued throughout the world for over fifteen years. I ask the Media, where is the fairness, truth and justice here?

Why does the Media not print the truth? I have given numerous interviews to the Media, but rarely more than 20% of what I actually say is printed - the rest is fabricated, or 'doctored' with cleverly placed words to distort the truth, and place a new meaning to the words. Who, then, is the Media? What is the authority behind it? What credentials has this group to orchestrate a hidden agenda? What law and justice does it represent? Obviously its own!

I am willing to challenge the Media, any time, but no lawyer will assist me on a win/pay basis. What has happened to the Democratic way of life when truth is falsified and lies run rampant?

I have read many reports which say the Police, and even A.S.I.O., have our Order under surveillance, yet it is never reported that the Police have found our Order to be simply anything other than what it proclaims to be - a Religious Order. I would not be petitioning the Catholic Church to officially investigate us if I had anything to hide.

Are the Christian Churches who believe in the Bible and in the Book of the Apocalypse all referred to as doomsday "Cults" and Preachers? It was very clear that when a rational study of reports on the Ugandan massacre was carried out - many loose ends were evident. How is it that five Police members were found burnt? How is it no one escaped where there were windows in the building? What proof is available to indicate the leader escaped with money?

Uganda is a poor country. Since when do the poor in Uganda have large sums of money? Have not Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda - bordering countries - been warring with each other on and off for many years?

In all cases regarding so-called 'Cults' or 'Sects', they were isolated cases, and only reached the world forum once a tragedy had occurred. None of these groups were Catholic; none under a Church Investigation - none a Religious Order, and certainly not the size and proportion of the Order of Saint Charbel.

Our Order has Communities established in 120 countries with 500,000 adherents, plus 53 Priests, 300 Nuns, 200 Brothers, 30 Communities and 64 Convents.

If the public knew all the facts, I believe they would no longer buy those newspapers or look at scurrilous Current Affairs productions. The WACO tragedy itself was a matter in question where innocent people died because of false reporting. The Authorities, F.B.I. and Police acted in an inappropriate way according to the American Constitution of Independence. I believe the Ugandan matter is no different to the WACO tragedy.

It seems to be the case that other Powers are at play, trying to link all Christian, God-fearing groups together. They are acting just as Nero with the early Christians at the beginning of Christianity.

I will be greatly surprised if this Press Release of mine is ever released by any Media outlet.
