Currambene Creek and Parma Creek join at the scenic horseshoe falls in this area, called TOOTAWAH "meeting of the waters" by the Aborigines. Formerly known as The Falls, the village was renamed FALLS CREEK in 1896, and the school name changed in 1900. The original Falls Creek Post Office was closed in 1970, but in 1977 Klimpton Post Office was renamed FALLS CREEK.
