U3A Milton - Ulladulla Campus Inc.
Most meetings are held
in daylight in
the Harry Higgs Room Milton.
This room is on the left at the Milton Cultural Centre.
It is well equipped with a TV and VCR, an Overhead Projector,
a Computer, Fan and Heater. We can seat up
to 20.
Sundry books and Newsletters (from other U3A's) may be
borrowed by members. We are also building up a library
of videos
from the popular Film Appreciation Courses. These may
be borrowed
by members. For details contact Ted Gordon , the Course
Tutor.
Obviously, some courses such as Astronomy, Bird Watching
and Geology
have been held outside. Currently the sculpture group operates at
the
Milton Showground . We also use Tutors' homes and local
halls when the
Harry Higgs Room is booked out.

Harry was a senior Rocket Engineer at Woomera before
helping to develop
Commonwealth Government Policies on the Environment. Australia
owes a lot
to Harry's vision and his dedication to The Great Barrier Reef and
National Parks.
As a member of The Club of Rome ( a selected group of visionaries )
he helped
to discuss future predicaments facing mankind.
On retirement , Harry and Marcia became the virtual
founders of Milton
Ulladulla U3A. Harry died in October 1994 mourned by all who
knew him.
When we obtained our own meeting room we named it The Harry Higgs Room.
Marcia is still very active in U3A as a an
experienced and popular language Tutor.
She still runs French courses in the room where the early U3A
classes were held.
